Day 1: Negombo-Nuwara eliya

Victoria Park is a public park located in Nuwara Eliya, next to the Nuwara Eliya Post Office in Sri Lanka.The park was formally named in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. The park was established with the planting of its first tree, an Oak, by a visiting German Princess. The Nanu Oya River runs through the park, creating a number of small lakes. Victoria Park, with its beautiful flowers and gardens is a must-visit when in Nuwara Eliya. Even if you aren’t particularly interested in flowers, it’s still a great place to go for a walk and relax.

Hakgala Botanical Garden is the second largest garden among the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka and is contiguous to Hakgala Strict Nature Reserve, which is the home to a variety of wild life, including bears, monkeys and birds. It boasts of over 10,000 species of flora.Situated some 10 kilometres South of Nuwara Eliya, the road to Hakgala along the Badulla road is a pleasant downhill drive, mostly through pine forests. The comfortable cool weather that prevails throughout the year compliments the exotic flora and fauna, creating a true paradise.Hakgala is a temperate hill country garden, where the lovely low country lotus and water lily mingles in their serene simplicity with sophisticated English roses, pre-historic looking ferns, and endemic orchids.

Day 2: Nuwara eliya- Negombo

The Lover’s Leap is a beautiful waterfall nestled amongst the tea plantation hills. Tourists can visit this place when they visit the Pedro Tea Estate since the waterfalls are nearby. The waterfall has many myths and stories associated with it, which makes it even more exciting and attractive. Tourists have to hike up the hill to get to the waterfalls which are one of the lesser known and lesser visited tourist spots in Nuwara Eliya, so tourists can leisurely explore the place.

Stop At: Pedro Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Head for the Pedro Tea Estate which lies nestled amongst the scenic beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country, situated in the shadows of the country’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala, just 3.5 km from NuwaraEliya. Built in 1885, the factory still holds some of its original machinery, although all of the production processes take place at night, meaning you can’t see them in action. Nevertheless, you can learn a lot about the history of the factory, the methods used to produce the tea, and, of course, sample some fine tea products at the end.

Gregory Lake or Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in heart of the tea country hill city, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Lake Gregory was constructed during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873. The lake and the surrounding area make up the Gregory Lake Area.However the lake was mainly used for leisure and recreation after it was built. At its peak of fame, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and was used a place to relax by many visitors.
