Itinerary

Day 1: Negombo

Pass By: Negombo, Negombo, Western Province
Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo.

Day 2: Anuradhapura

Stop At: Negombo Fish Market, Negombo Sri Lanka
Local Fishermen on Negombo beach in Sri Lanka throw out their fishing nets in the air, clean and pack them together for tomorrow’s early catch. Opportunistic seagulls and crows touchdown the beach and hover in the sky, urgently looking for fresh fishy snacks. The wind sweeps up the sand from the tropical beach next to the Negombo fish market complex and gently scratches the skin whilst walking.

Stop At: Sri Maha Boodhi Temple, Anuradhapura Sri Lanka
Anuradhapura, North Central Province, Sri Lanka. The Sri Maha Bodhi Tree is one of Anuradhapura’s most important Buddhist sites and is a sacred place of pilgrimage. It is thought that the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree grew out of a cutting of the fig tree under which Buddha himself gained enlightenment. This would make it up to 2,000 years old.

Day 3: Dambulla

Dambulla is the most visited tourist destination in Sri Lanka. This special cave temple complex is located 148 km away from Colombo. The World Heritage City of Kandy is located at a distance of 72 km from Dambulla. The easy access to this place is a special privilege for tourists.

The handicraft village in Sigiriya was established in 2003 and it has facilities for maintenance of a number of various fields of handicraft. 48 stalls have been set up in this village for handicraftsmen.

Day 4: Kandy
