Itinerary

Day 1: DAY: 01-KANDY

Stop At: Kandy District, Kandy District, Central Province
On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport, our clients will be welcomed by our
representatives. On the way to Kandy
Kandy is a major city located in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient
kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of
tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital
of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one
of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by
UNESCO in 1988.

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha

Day 2: DAY: 02-KANDY- BOTANICAL GARDENS

Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
After breakfast, next day you will visit the Peradeniya Botanical
Gardens. Enveloped in the Mahaweli River, this 60 hectare botanical garden includes over 4000 types of
flora such as orchids, spices, palm trees and medicinal plants.

Stop At: Natural Gems and Gemmological Museum, 530, Colombo Road, Kandy 20442 Sri Lanka
You will then visit the Gem Museum in Kandy. You will able to see various types of gems in this museum and very valuable ones.

Day 3: DAY: 03-KANDY- SIGRIYA

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
After breakfast the next morning we will leave to Sigiriya. On the way, you will visit the Hindu Temple,
Matale Aluvihare, and Dambulla Cave Temple. Sri Muthumariamman Temple is dedicated to
Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility. One of the most visually dominant features of this temple
is its 55 m (180 ft) high Gopuram (‘Raja Koburum’), a large decorated tower located above the main
northern gateway (‘Vadakku Veli Veedi’) to the temple. The Matale Aluvihare (also known as cave with
light) is of great historic importance, tracing back to the 3rd Century B.C. in the reign of King
Devanampiyatissa. Dambulla – one of UNESO World Heritage Site, is the largest and best-preserved cave
temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than
80 documented caves in the surrounding area. Major attractions are spread over five caves, which
contain statues and paintings.

Stop At: Sri Muthumariamman Temple, 680 17 Kandy-Jaffna Highway, Matale 21000 Sri Lanka
Muthumariamman Temple or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. The prefix “Muthu”, literally means “pearl”. “Mari” means rain and “Amman” means mother in the Tamil language. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility

Stop At: Aluvihara Rock Cave Temple, Matale, Aluvihara Aluvihara Junction, Matale Rd, Matale 21000 Sri Lanka
The Aluvihare Rock Temple is a sacred Buddhist temple located in Aluvihare, Matale District of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by hills, the Aluvihara cave temple is situated 30 km north of Kandy on the Matale-Dambulla road

Stop At: Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, Kandy – Jaffna Highway, Dambulla 21100 Sri Lanka
Dambulla cave temple is also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country.

Day 4: DAY: 04- SIGRIYA-POLONARUWA

Stop At: Polonnaruwa, Polonnaruwa, North Central Province
After breakfast the next morning we will leave to Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient
of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned
archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the
Kingdom’s first rulers and has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Day 5: DAY: 05-ANURADHAPURA

Stop At: Anuradhapura, Anuradhapura, North Central Province
After breakfast the next morning we will visit Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Anuradhapura is one of the
ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The
city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the centre of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries.And
Thuparamaya, considered to be the first dagaba or pagoda built in Sri Lanka, which enshrines the
collarbone of the Lord Buddha. You will visit the Lovamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace,
located between the Ruwanvaliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya.
Later you will visit Mihintale which is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is believe by Sri
Lankas to be the site of meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa
which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.
