Stop At: Secret Beach, Harbor Rd., Mirissa 81740 Sri Lanka
Secret Beach Mirissa, is a small hidden beach with a bay area just around the corner of the town’s main beach, Mirissa Beach. Although Secret Beach is no longer much of a secret (and even has its location on google maps!) it should definitely be on your list of places to visit in Mirissa. The best thing about Secret Beach is its surroundings; the beach is nestled in a cove and flanked by small hills covered in lush green palm trees on either side which creates a number of smaller beaches. Secret Beach consists of three smaller beaches: Blue Lagoon, this is right in front of the beach and is a tidal rock pool which is perfect for a lazy swim; Palm Cove, found on the left of Blue Lagoon, it is a wonderful snorkeling location, a place where the jungle meets the sea; Shelly Beach is made of a series of rock pools and even has a blowhole.

Stop At: Parrot Rock Bridge, WFR6+RW6, Mirissa, Sri Lanka
Parrot Rock is a small rocky outcrop off the coast of Mirissa Beach. Parrot Rock is a popular attraction as you can get a wonderful view of the palm tree-fringed Mirissa coastline on one side and the blue horizon on the other side. While the rock is a great look out spot, a little known fact is that the most beautiful part of Parrot Rock is under its surface. Parrot Rock is surrounded by numerous small rocks which have now been overrun by coral, making for an incredible snorkeling experience.

Stop At: Coconut Tree Hill, Mirissa Sri Lanka
Just a 15-minute walk from Mirissa Beach you will find Coconut Tree Hill, a small coconut tree far atop a hillock. The hill has perhaps become the most instagrammed spot in Mirissa and it’s easy to see why; the whole hill looks over to the gorgeous turquoise ocean and it is covered by tall coconut trees swaying in the sea breeze. At the center of the peak there is an area of cleared land and this is where you can get that perfect shot of you in a coconut grove with the sparkling Indian Ocean behind you. Coconut Tree Hill has a central location, so you can get there either by getting dropped on the main road and then climbing the hill (which only takes about two minutes), or you can walk along the beach.

Stop At: Polhena Beach, Matara Sri Lanka
It is one of the best beaches in the area with a small sandy cove that is sheltered by a reef offshore. Covered with a barrier of soft corals the beach is very famous for safe swimming and it’s a very shallow area with lack of water currents which makes easy for people to swim in the sea. The beach attracts many tourists for snorkeling activities as the reef is a breeding spot for colorful fish living in the sea. Polhena Beach is a popular hangout spot among both locals and tourists.
