What to Expect When Visiting Colombo, Western Province, Sri Lanka

Itinerary
Day 1: Kandy, world heritage city and the last kingdom of Sri Lanka
Pass By: Ambepussa, Ambepussa, Sabaragamuwa Province
We will pick you from the Colombo airport or the hotel you are staying. Our representative will be awaiting inside the airport as per the flight details provided by you (flight number, landing time etc) if the pick-up is from the airport. Otherwise you can let us know the name of the hotel so we can arrange the pickup there.
Ambepussa is a place located on the middle of the journey to Kandy and it’s famous for breakfast and refreshments etc. You can decide and let our chauffeur know if you prefer to stop there.
Stop At: Susantha Spice and Herbal Garden, Ganethenna, 27, Hingula 71500 Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is world famous all around the world for it’s great variety of Spices. And it’s one of the export product categories too. During this visit, you will be given a brief idea about different types of spices available in Sri Lanka, the process of growing them and the harvesting etc. A complimentary herbal drink is offered to each visitor.

We will be heading to the hotel soon after arriving Kandy. You can check in and spend some relaxed time before moving to the next itme of the day as it’s starting at 5.00 pm

Kandy cultural show is one of the most beautiful activity available here. A range of cultural activities are performed by well trained and experienced performers. This includes various dancing, drumming and entertainment activities from different parts of Sri Lanka. At the end there will be a segment with fire dance and walking on fire etc. Show starts at 5.00 pm and goes till 6.00 pm

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Temple of the tooth relic in Kandy is considered as the most important Buddhist temple in the world. Most of the tourists who visit Sri Lanka make it a point to include this place to their itinerary somehow. It’s located within the walking distance from the cultural centre and we can proceed here soon after the show.

Stop At: Kandy View Point, Rajapihilla Mawatha, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Also known as the Arthur’s seat. A beautiful view point to overlook the entire city of Kandy. Ideal time to be here is the evening. So it will be perfect when you come after the visit to the temple. Beautiful Kandy lake, temple and the city can be seen with the magnificent view.

Day 2: Sigiriya, Dambulla and Safari Tour
Stop At: Matale, Sri Lanka
We will be starting the day after breakfast at the hotel. We will will head to Sigiriya from Kandy.
Our first stop is at Mathele. It’s is a city located en-route to Sigiriya. There is a famous Hindu Kovil located in the middle of the Mathale city and we can stop there for few minutes.

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
This world heritage site considered as the 8th wonder of the world. A must visit place if you happen to tour in Sri Lanka. It’s advisable to start the climb as early as possible since it will be hot, sunny and tiring when it reaches the noon.

Stop At: Pidurangala Rock, Pidurangala,Sigiriya, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
Another rock with a historical background. Located close to the Sigiriya rock-fortress. Some travelers prefer this over Sigiriya rock. You can choose either on of these as we will not find enough time to cover both.

This is one of the best places in Sri Lanka for Aurvedic healing and wellness treatments. It’s an option for you to visit the place after the rock climb as you may be very tired by then.

Stop At: Hiriwadunna, Hiriwadunna, North Central Province
Traditional village safari at Hiriwadunna is one of the most popular activities available here. You will be given the opportunity to experience the activities of a conventional village in Sri Lanka. You can get an insight of the Srilankan lifestyle. You will be given the chance to take part in cooking and a complimentary Srilankan lunch will be offered at the end.

Stop At: Minneriya National Park, Maradankadawala-Habarana-Thirukkondaiadimadu Highway, 50150 Sri Lanka
This exiting activity will give you a great opportunity to see wild Elephants of Sri Lanka in there natural behaviors. There will be some herds with hundreds of them together. We will arrange a 4WD jeep together with a guide for the safari trip inside the jungle. It’s not only Elephants you can expect. There will be some other species of animals too.

Stop At: Dambulla Cave Temple, Jaffna Hwy, Habarana 50150 Sri Lanka
We will start heading towards Kandy after the safari tour. Dambulla cave temples located en route.
It’s one of the oldest Buddhist cave temples in the world and has a great history behind it.

Day 3: Tea Plantations and the Hill Country of Sri Lanka

We will be checking out from the hotel in Kandy after the breakfast ans start traveling towards Nuwaraeliya. We have fe places to visit in Kandy and some on our way.
Kandy lake is a beautiful creation located in the middle of the Kandy city. It’s kind of an icon for Kandy’s identity.
Stop At: Kandy Market Hall, Market St, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Located in the middle of Kandy town and this is the place where ordinary people come to purchase their daily needs. An ideal place to get an idea about the lifestyle of common Sri Lankans.

Stop At: Natural Gems and Gemmological Museum, 530, Colombo Road, Kandy 20442 Sri Lanka
Gem mining is one of the main industries of the people in Sri Lanka and this falls among the top export products. Visit to the gem museum will be a great experience as it demonstrates the whole process of gem mining. Their presentation will educate you about the varieties of gems available here in Sri Lanka.

A beautiful place to spend some relaxed time enjoying the beautiful surrounding. One of the biggest botanical gardens in the South Asian region. You can witness a range of beautiful trees, flowers & plants.

Stop At: Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden, A5, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Name “Sri Lanka” and Tea always go together and some peoples in different countries know Sri Lanka just because of the finest tea produced by Sri Lanka.
This place offers you the complete experience including the process of tea plucking, tea processing in the factory. You will be offered a complementary cup of garden fresh tea at the end.

Stop At: Ramboda Waterfall, Pussellawa Sri Lanka
One of the most beautiful waterfall of Sri Lanka. Located close to the main road from Kandy to Nuwaraeliya. It;s worth spending some time at this beautiful place.

Pass By: Nuwara Eliya, Nuwara Eliya, Central Province
Here we reach the capital of hill country of Sri Lanka. Nuwaraeliaya, we call it little England due to the cold climate and the building architecture influenced by British. We will check into the hotel and evening is free for you to relax at the hotel or roam around the city.

Day 4: Scenic Train Journey and Beautiful Ella
Stop At: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Main item of the day is the scenic train ride from Nuwaraeliya to Ella. Train leaves at 12.30 pm and we have the morning half for the sightseeing within Nuwaraeliya.
We can make a visit to Gregory lake park which is located close to the Nuwaraeliya city. It’s beautiful place with some activities including boat rides, hore rides etc.

City tour in the beautiful Nuwaraeliya.
Market hall & Victoria Park are among the places we can expect to visit here.

Pass By: Nanu Oya railway station, Avissawella – Hatton – Nuwara Eliya Hwy, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Chauffeur will take you to the Nanuoya station to catch the train at 12.30 pm. We will have train tickets reserved for you. He will assists you in finding the particular seat number etc.
Chauffeur will be driving to Ella with your luggage etc and wait at the Ella station for the train.
Pass By: Ella, Ella, Uva Province
You will be arriving the Ella station around 3.00 pm. Chauffeur will be waiting there for the pick-up.
Then we will be heading for the site seeing in Ella
Stop At: Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Sri Lanka
This is one of the key places in Ella. Whoever visits Ella make it a point to come the nine arch bridges. Unique design of the bridge and the beautiful surrounding are the reason for this place to be so popular among the travellers

Stop At: Ravana Ella Falls, Ella-Wellawaya Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Ravana Falls is one of the longest and beautiful water falls of Sri Lanka. Located close to the main road to Wellawaya from Ella. We will be taking this route to reach our next destination.

Pass By: Bentota, Bentota, Galle District, Southern Province
We will be heading to Bentotoa straight from Ella. This is one of the beautiful city located in the southern coastal area of Sri Lanka.
We will be checked into the hotel for the night stay.

Day 5: Galle and the Beach Day

A trip to Sri Lanka will not be completed without some time spent on a beach side. Galle is one of the most beautiful cities in Sri Lanka and the capital of southern coastal area.
We will have the breakfast at the hotel, check – out and leave for Galle. Galle fort is an iconic location which is built by dutch during their time in Sri Lanka.
We can decide the time we leave for galle based on your preference to spend some relaxed time at the hotel in Bentota beach.

We will be heading to Colombo at the end of the planned activities in Galle, Bentota.
We can check in to the hotel in Colombo and do some sightseeing, shopping etc as per your preference.

Itinerary for the will can be arranged based on your departure flight time. Normally it will take around 30 minutes to reach the Airport from Colombo.
Possible sightseeing and attractions available in Colombo are listed and we can decide them based on your preferences and the departure time.
Pettah is the main area for street shopping and general businesses. Ordinary people used to come here for day today purchases.

A great place to be if you are a person who loves learning / studying about the history.

This is where the Colombo Airport located. We have come to the end of the tour. Our chauffeur will drop you at the airport with enough time as per your departure flight.
Or else we can drop you at your next hotel if the departure flight is booked for a different date.
