Stop At: Kaudulla National Park, Galoya Road, Habarana 51375 Sri Lanka

Kaudulla National Park, a dry evergreen forest that spread over an area of 6656 hectares is connected to the corridor between nearby Minneriya Wildlife Park and Kaudulla. The centerpiece of the park, Kaudulla reservoir draws herds of elephants during the dry season. Besides from elephants, there is so much more to see. Peacocks, small black bears, crocodiles, deer, many monkeys and beautifully colored birds. Kaudulla National Park is a wonderful alternative for responsibly-minded travellers – and generally speaking, anyone that doesn’t want to end up in a national park traffic jam. Also identified here are 26 species of fish which include Oreochromis mossambicus, 25 species of reptiles; Freshwater turtles such as the Indian Flap-shelled turtle and Indian black turtle and an endemic species of amphibian – Fejervaryapulla.
