Day 1: Negombo/Colombo – Ella

Stop At: Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory, Badulla Road, Hela Halpe, Ella, Sri Lanka 90090, Sri Lanka
Located at a short distance from the Halpe Temple en route to Badulla is where you will encounter the bustling Uva Halpewatte Tea Factory which is 1,230 meters above sea level. Ideally suited for experiencing the very best that a tea tour in Sri Lanka has to offer, visitors to the factory will be met with a number of activities to do. From meandering through lush, green tea gardens to finally savouring your own ‘cuppa’, one is sure to have plenty to talk of coming to the conclusion of one’s journey.

This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains. The Bridge was commissioned in 1921 under the British Government.

Views from the summit are incredible. 360 degrees panoramic views with clouds rolling in, is a treat to watch for any traveler.Hike itself is a worthy experience as you walk through lush green tea estates, talking to locals who are plucking and collecting tea leaves, working in the estate.We recommend you go early mornings or late evenings for the best views and it will be less tiring.

Day 2: Ella – Negombo/Colombo

Flying Ravana is Sri Lanka’s first ever zip-line, located amidst the luscious green estates of Ella. The two-wire zip-line stretches for more than half a kilometre, slides at 80kmph and offers a bird’s-eye view of the beautiful hills of the island. It is exclusively designed for adventure enthusiasts and adrenaline junkies who prefer a not so ordinary hillside experience.

Ravana Cave also known as Demon Cave is a cave which has a mythological significance of this hill destination.According to the legend, it is said that Ravana, who was the king of Sri Lanka at the time had kidnapped Queen Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind the Ravana Falls, known as Ravana’s Cave. The cave is a very cool place and the views are mesmerizing and there is a small tea spot when climbing up to it. It is believed that this cave is the starting point for a network of underground caves.

Ravana Falls is another must visit in Ella. Hill country of Sri Lanka is quite popular for beautiful waterfalls and Ravana Falls is right at the top. The falls are quite impressive, and you can climb over some of the rocks to get a closer look. If you love water and want to have some splash time, enjoying some hours in the water fall, then this is the place in Ella. It currently ranks as one of the widest falls in the country. This waterfall measures approximately 25 m (82 ft) in high and cascade from an oval-shaped concave rock outcrop. During the local wet season, the waterfall turns into what is said to resemble an areca flower with withering petals.
