Itinerary

Day 1: Negombo/Colombo – Nuwara Eliya

Stop At: Pedro Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Tea Lover or Not Pedro tea estate is one of the must visit sites in Nuwara Eliya. Nestled amongst the scenic beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country and situated in the shadows of the country’s highest mountain, Pidurutalagala, you will find the Pedro Tea Estate. Sri Lanka is famous for its Ceylon Tea where you can learn about the tea picking in process you can take a guided tour of the factory and learn about the next stage in the production of tea making. The full process involves Tea Plucking, Withering, Rolling, Fermentation, Firing and Sorting/Grading before it is bulk packed to be sent to the tea auctions in Colombo. Take a stroll through the vibrant green tea fields where you will see the tea pickers at work, carefully picking the “two leaves and bud” that go into making the Pure Ceylon Tea. They will let you have a go at picking some for yourself, and will show you how it is done correctly!
Lovers Leap

Stop At: Lover’s Leap Waterfall, XQGP+XHJ, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka
Starting from the highset mountain in Sri LankaLover leap waterfall stands 30 m high of incipient of the streams. The beautiful waterfall has a very interesting name too. As one might accurately guess, the site is linked to a tragedy. It is said that a long time ago a prince in the island was meandering in the area and lost his way. He was guided and directed by a beautiful damsel. Of course, the two fell deeply in love, but the prince’s parents were against their union. With nothing else to do and nowhere else to go, the poor couple decided to leap to their deaths and immortalize their love. There are plenty of villagers who still avoid travelling in the area at night, believing that the ghosts of the lost lovers still haunt in the area.

Located in the center of this town this 100 year old building is one of the most popular colonial buildings of ‘Little England’. The red brick exterior is hard to be missed while one is on the streets of Nuwara Eliya. Built in Tudor style, the post office has a distinctive edge and stands as a remnant of the old world Ceylon. A clock tower spirals from one side of the building. The bright orange roofs and red bricked walls of the sprawling building form a colorful contrast with the manicured lawns and perfectly pruned hedges

Stop At: Victoria Park of Nuwara Eliya, A5, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Victoria Park was initially a research field for Hakkagala Botanical Gardens and was later renamed was renamed after Queen Victoria in 1897. Victoria Park, with its beautiful flowers and gardens is a must-visit when in Nuwara Eliya. Even if you aren’t particularly interested in flowers, it’s still a great place to go for a walk and relax. Even the foliage is lush and expansive with tall trees marking the boundaries of the park. It’s just green as far the eye can see. Most of the pathways inside the park are paved, but you can also find natural pathways which walk you right through the trees.

Stop At: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Gregory Lake, located in the heart of Nuwara Eliya, is a reservoir constructed by British Governor by the name of Sir William Gregory in 1873. It’s a lovely spot for people to relax, with many activities and a massive park lining it. Spanning 225 acres, Lake Gregory is the place to go for water activities in Nuwara Eliya, with the park serving as a great spot for picnics. You can find little ponies trotting along on the grass and boats that you could hire to go out on the lake and enjoy some serenity away from the noise.

Day 2: Nuwara Eliya – Negombo/Colombo

.This UNESCO designated Natural World Heritage site, being a biodiversity hotspot is one of the best places to observe nearly 750 species of plants, 24 species of mammals, 87 species of birds, 09 species of reptiles and 08 species of amphibians.However the key attraction at Horton Plains is a sheer precipice with an 870m (2,854 ft) drop called “World’s End” – from where one can see the world stretch out to all eternity and the Baker’s fall, known as one Sri Lanka’s most beautiful waterfalls with its water pounding down a 20m (66ft) high stone slab.
