Stop At: Kande Viharaya Temple, 22 Marikkar St, Dharga Town 12080 Sri Lanka

You will be picked up from your hotel and first you’ll be visiting the Kande Viharaya Temple. Kande Viharaya is one of the biggest Buddhist temples in Kalutara district. The name of this sacred place means ‘Mountain Temple’ and was derived because it was built on the crest of a hill near to Aluthgama town.

Stop At: Brief Garden – Bevis Bawa, Kalawila Village, Beruwala 12070 Sri Lanka

Next you’ll be visiting the Brief Garden by Bevis Bawa. Brief garden is a wonderful stretch of impeccably designed landscape. Spread over a couple of acres of land which is located about eight kilometres off Bentota, Brief Garden houses mesmerizingly beautiful Japanese-style gardens and lawns inspired from the colonial days. It has been home to the famous architect Bevis Bawa, some of whose works are showcased here, along with several other artists from Sri Lanka as well as abroad.

Then you’ll stop at Bentota beach which is one of the finest beaches on the West Coast of Sri Lanka. Lined with mega resorts, boutique hotels, guest houses and budget beach front accommodations, Bentota has something for everyone. Despite of all the developments, the beach is pristine and not crowded by tourists. Besides lazing around, Bentota offers lot of beachside activities for an active seeker. You can get your hands at snorkeling. Sailing, water skiing, wind surfing, kayaking and deep sea fishing.

Finally you’ll visit the the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project which is a small venue in Kosgoda that’s run by volunteers and relies on donations to help protect Sri Lanka’s turtles. The process of marine turtles nesting, hatchlings being born, and swimming back to sea is fascinating to observe. Turtles are frequently injured at sea. Many get caught in fishing nets, whilst others are attacked by people attempting to catch and kill them for their meat. The few that survive are cared for by Turtle Farms such as these, and those that make a recovery are re-released to the sea.
