Itinerary

Day 1: Negombo/Colombo – Sinaharaja

Stop At: Brahmana Ella Water Fall, Lankagama School Road, Dellawa Rd, Neluwa, Sri Lanka
Lankagama Brahmana Ella fall is situated in the border of the Sinharaja Forest with a 17m height, which is fed by the Hariyawa brook. This brook had been dammed at the point where its both, right and left braches meet. A hydropower station is located below. The name of the fall is steeped in history. Folklore narrates that during the reign of King Walagamba, a Brahmin had stolen a golden melon, intended to be enshrined in the Batuwangala. The King sent his army to apprehend him, while fleeing he slipped down the fall to his death.

Stop At: Sinharaja Forest Entrance, Sinharaja Access Road Viharahena, Deniyaya 81500 Sri Lanka
The word ‘Sinharaja’ translates to the ‘Lion King’. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a very significant wildlife and green cover in Sri Lanka. It is a biodiversity park which preserves the last viable section of the primary tropical rainforest in the country. It was declared as the UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1988. The park is also protected as a World Biosphere Reserve since 1978. The step was needed to save this last tropical forest cover from being destroyed by the ruthless deforestation for commercial purposes. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is home to a vast variety of flora and fauna. Feel lucky if you spot animals like leopards, elephants, and purple-faced langur, in this dense forest. There are also various endemic and migratory bird species.

Day 2: Sinharaja – Deniyaya – Wilpaththu – Negombo/Colombo

Stop At: Patna Devision Deniyaya Sliding Rock, Enasalwaththa Rd, Sri Lanka
Patna is another fascinating and unusual place located close to Deniyaya town just outside of Sinharaja rainforest. This site has a natural water slide and is an ideal place to have fun with your friends and family among enchanting nature. The water is cold and refreshing. This place has lately become very popular and so many tourists have started to visit Patna to enjoy the beauty. Burusgala, as locals call this place, is situated in Patna Tea Estate and you have to use Wiharahena road to go to Patna Division. You have to walk along tea bushes and climb down up to the place. But if you like to be enchanted by beautiful scenery it will be an enjoyable walk for you and you will feel the walk is well worth.

Stop At: Visit Udawalawe National Park, No. 04 Ekamuthugama, Thanamalwila Road, Udawalawe National Park 70250 Sri Lanka
This Udawalawe National Park is located at the borders of Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces in Sri Lanka. The main purpose of having a national park was to provide a sanctuary to the wild animals that lost their habitat due to the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River. This reserve had been built in the year 1972 and it covers an area of 30,821 hectares. It is a popular destination among the tourists and it is the 3rd most visited place in entire Sri Lanka. Udawalawe is not only famous for the elephants but also for other animals like leopards as well as various species of birds. There are approximately 500-700 elephants and so the chances of spotting an elephant are nearly 100%.There are 184 birds, 33 reptiles, 43 mammals and also 135 different species of butterflies.
