Day 1: COLOMBO AIRPORT -KANDY

Stop At: Kandy, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province
On arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport, our clients will be welcomed by our
representatives. On the way to Kandy
Kandy is a major city located in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient
king’s era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of
tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and religious city and is also the capital
of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), one
of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988.

Day 2: KANDY CITY TOUR

Stop At: Bahiravokanda Vihara Buddha Statue, Bahirawa Kanda Rd, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
The Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue is situated on a hill named just 2 km from the Temple of the Tooth Relic. This beautifully sculptured white Buddha statue was built in 1972. Standing at 88 feet, it is considered as one of the biggest Buddha statues in Sri Lanka. There is a Buddhist temple located alongside the Buddha statue in the Bahirawa Kanda hill. The hill provides panoramic views of the Kandy city including the mountain range nearby and the Bogambara prison. Devotees can worship in the temple.

Kandy City View Point is a place to capture the picturesque view of Kandy city. It stands overlooking the Kandy Lake with the Temple of the Tooth Relic in the background. It is a good place to visit during sunrise or sunset for an amazing panoramic view of this city surrounded by mountains. It is a popular place to take photographs. This viewpoint is situated in Rajapihilla Mawatha. It is also called Arthur’s Seat and is supposedly the highest point in Kandy standing 550 meters above sea level.

Royal Botanic Gardens, Peradeniya are about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. In 2016, the garden was visited by 1.2 million locals and 400,000 foreign visitors. It is near the Mahaweli River. It is renowned for its collection of orchids

In the evening we will enjoy The Kandy Lake Club Cultural Dance Show is a stimulating Sri Lankan Arts, Dance & Cultural Heritage Show that is a must-see for any visitor who visits the historic city of Kandy. The Kandy Lake Club Dance started in 1982 with the view of having a cultural dance performance bringing together all Sri Lankan dance types to one platform. It is the first Cultural Dance Show of its kind to be established in Sri Lanka. It has since become a tourist attraction for many people visiting the country and keen on a glimpse of its rich cultural heritage. Hence it has been performing continuously for the last 35 years.

Day 3: KANDY- SIGRIYA

Stop At: Sri Muthumariamman Temple, 680 17 Kandy-Jaffna Highway, Matale 21000 Sri Lanka
After breakfast the next morning we will leave for Sigiriya. On the way, you will visit the Hindu Temple, Matale Aluvihare, and Dambulla Cave Temple. Sri Muthu Mariamman Temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

Muthumariamman Temple or Arulmigu Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil is a Hindu temple in Matale, Sri Lanka. The prefix “Muthu”, literally means “pearl”. “Mari” means rain and “Amman” means mother in the Tamil language. The temple is dedicated to Mariamman, the goddess of rain and fertility.

Stop At: Aluvihara Rock Cave Temple, Matale, Aluvihara Aluvihara Junction, Matale Rd, Matale 21000 Sri Lanka
Aluvihare is a suburb of Matale, Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is located 3.5 km north of Matale and 150 km north-east of Colombo. The suburb is situated on the Kandy-Jaffna highway. It was founded by King Devanampiyatissa, around 300 B.C. but did not receive the name Aluvihare until a later date.

Day 4: SIGRIYA-POLONARUWA

Stop At: Polonnaruwa, Polonnaruwa, North Central Province
After breakfast the next morning we will leave for Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned
archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers and has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

Pass By: Thuparama, Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka
Situated at the ancient capital of Polonnaruwa in the Dalada Maluwa premises, the Thuparama Image House is one of the few buildings where the roof completely made of bricks can be seen and is characterized as the “Gedige” type. Despite the fact that it is the smallest gedige, it is the main gedige in Polonnaruwa that is as yet secured by a roof. It has amazingly thick block dividers that were barrel-vaulted and finished with concrete figures all around. This structure is a mix of Sri Lankan and South Indian architecture styles and patterns still can be seen on the well preserved semi-cylindrical roof and the remains of large seated Buddha statue even after 900 years after construction.

Stop At: Nissanka Latha Mandapaya, Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka
Nissanka Latha Mandapaya is a square building with a fine rock-cut railing g going all-around lying the Dalada Maluwa area of the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa. This building has been built by King Nissanka Malla (1187-1196).

The most important feature of this building is the shape and the carvings of the stone pillars. These pillars are carved in the shape of a lotus stem and are curved in three places. The top of the pillars takes the form of a lotus flower. In the center is a small Stupa. The whole building is surrounded by a fence made out of stone.

This pyramid-shaped, seven-storied building called Sathmahal Prasadaya is thought to be an unusually shaped stupa built during the Polonnaruwa Period (11th -13th century)

Stop At: Siva Devale No 2, Polonnaruwa Sri Lanka
Shiva devalaya in Polonnaruwa which is one of the 14 Hindu shrines is dedicated to God Shiva in Polonnaruwa. This shrine was built by Chola invaders who ruled ancient Sri Lanka during the 13th century AD. The shrine is located in Polonnaruwa and between the royal palace complex of the King and the sacred quadrangle. The devalaya is a full stonework and a Kandyan architectural style construction.

Day 5: ANURADHAPURA

Stop At: Mihintale, Anuradhapura Sri Lanka
After breakfast the next morning we will visit Anuradhapura and Mihintale, Mihintale is a mountain peak near Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka. It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of a meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka

Thuparamaya is the first Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka. Located in the sacred area of Mahamewna park, the Thuparamaya Stupa is the earliest Dagoba to be constructed in the island, dating back to the reign of King Devanampiya Tissa

Lovamahapaya is a building situated between Ruwanweliseya and Sri Mahabodiya in the ancient city of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is also known as the Brazen Palace or Lohaprasadaya because the roof was covered with bronze tiles. In ancient times, the building included the refectory and the uposathagara.
