Knuckles is a world heritage forest in Sri Lanka and it offers magnificent views and harbors many species endemic to this forest range.Hiking in this World heritage Knuckles mountain range will be an experience of a lifetime. To name few of the animals endemic to this range: Crestless Lizard (Calotes Leocephalus), Pigmy Lizard (Cophotis ceylonica) and Kangaroo Lizard (Otocryptus Wiegmanni) and are leaf nose lizard (Ceretophora Tennennti). On the ther hand it has many waterfalls and mountain peaks to climb and explore. Knuckles range is home to no less than 200 bird species. Fifteen of these species are endemic to Sri Lanka, they are: Spot Wing thrush, Sri Lankan blue magpie Jungle fowl, Yellow-fronted barbet, small barbet, Sri Lankan warbler, White faced starling, Sri Lanka white-eye, Black headed bulbul, Yellow eared bulbul, dusk blue flycatcher, brown capped babbler and Layard’s parakeet.

Itinerary

Hiking in this World heritage Knuckles mountain range will be a breathtaking experience for you. You will be provided transport from Kandy in the morning to our starting point in thangappuwa . There you will meet our expert guide will be taken on a hike of this breathtaking mountain range. First you will go through lush tea fields, then you will climb the montain and reach mountain forests of Sri Lanka which is normally covered by mist most of the day. After about hour walking you will reach the upper waterfall, There you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. There on you will reach the bottom of the waterfall to catch a glimpse of the fall. Lunch will also be provided near the waterfall by us.After enjoying your day to explore the surrounding you will be coming down and we will provide transport back to Kandy upon your request or we will provide you accommodation in the area if you wish to do so.
