Itinerary

Day 1: Colombo – Ella

Stop At: Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s Nine Arch Bridge is an architecturally stunning stone bridge located in the lush hill country of Ella. Built 3,100m above sea level, among the peaks of the Central Highlands, the Nine Arches forms a crossing between the Demodara and Ella Railway stations. This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete. The giant arches take the bridge on a curved path to link to mountains. The bridge was commissioned in 1921 under the British Government.

Stop At: Uva Province, Uva Province
The Uva Halpewaththa Tea Factory, 5km north of Ella, runs some of the better tea plantation tours in Sri Lanka. Built in 1940, during the British rule, the factory is perched 1,230 meters above sea level in the cool climes of the Uva region, located 200 Kms from Colombo and 6 Kms from Ella, a picturesque little hamlet in the Uva province. Ideally suited for experiencing the very best that a tea tour in Sri Lanka has to offer, visitors to the factory will be met with a number of activities to do. From meandering through lush, green tea gardens to finally savouring your own ‘cuppa’, one is sure to have plenty to talk of coming to the conclusion of one’s journey.

The Ravana Ella, Sri Lanka has its roots connected to the times of the famous eastern epic, Ramayana and it has been named after the brawny daemon ruler of Lanka, Ravana. It is said that after kidnapping Sita, Ravana had hidden her at the caves behind this waterfall when Shri Rama was drawing close to Lanka with his army to rescue her. The cave came to be known as Ravana Ella cave.

Day 2: Ella

Stop At: Little Adam’s Peak, Passara Road, Ella 90090 Sri Lanka
Little Adam’s Peak attracts many travelers who visit Sri Lanka and the hiking trails is right next to the Ella Flower Garden Resort. It is priceless if you can visit in the early morning for a beautiful sunrise. At the summit of Adam’s Peak, there is a rock that resembles a huge footprint, which is where Christians and Muslims both believe Adam took that first step. The climb to Little Adam’s Peak (Punchi Sri Pada) is pleasant and requires no special conditional claims. Little Adam’s Peak offers one of the finest viewpoints in the Sri Lanka Hill Country and is also part of a three-venue loop that can be done in one day. Definitely don’t skip it!

Flying Ravana is Sri Lanka’s first ever mega dual zip-line, located amidst the luscious green estates of Ella,Sri Lanka. There are a number of reasons as to why it is such a big hit within such a short period of time – one of them being that safety is their number one priority – their zip lines are certified by the ERCA, the European Ropes Course Association which is a high standard certification for safety standards in rope courses. Everything is thoroughly checked ranging from construction, inspection, training and operation of rope courses. Before the activity begins, instructions and assistance is given, whilst providing required safety equipment such as the harness, and helmet. The zip line stretches to approximately half a kilometre with a speed of 80 kilometres per hour.

Day 3: Ella – Yala – Colombo

Stop At: Yala National Park, Yala National Park
Ruhuna National park or more affectionately known as Yala, has been the most celebrated wildlife park in Sri Lanka for over a century. Hidden away in the far south-east of the country, it comprises five separate blocks covering 141 sq kms. Its varying habitats – consisting of scrub plains, jungles, rocky outcrops, forest, mangroves fresh water lakes, rivers and coastal lagoons – provide homes for many species of animals including sloth bear, herds of elephants, buffalo, monkeys, sambar, deer, crocodiles. For many, though, the chief attraction is the endangered leopard sub-species Panthera pardus kotiya, which is found only in Sri Lanka.
