Day 1: Colombo Airport Pick-up

On your arrival at Colombo airport, your driver will pick you up and escort you to your hotel in Negombo. After the check-in, you will have the rest of the day free on your own arrangements.

Day 2: Negombo Fish Market, Dutch Canal, Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, & Drive to Sigiriya

Stop At: Negombo Fish Market, Negombo Sri Lanka
In the morning, your guided tour will start at Negombo Fish Market and Lella Fishing Village. You will get close to a different lifestyle of local fishermen and be amazed by the thousands of fresh and dried fish, crabs, shrimps, and other seafood placed neatly in lines.

After exploring the busy fish market, you will visit the Dutch Cannel, which dates back to the 8th century and was once the vital transportation channel connecting Negombo with Colombo. You will enjoy a peaceful scene comprising green water and tropical trees along the roadside.

Stop At: Golden Temple of Dambulla, Dambulla 21100 Sri Lanka
Then you will proceed to the Cultural Triangle of the country. Here you will be guided to explore a splendid UNESCO World Heritage site – Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, which is over 2000 years old. The total of 153 Buddha statues and extensive frescos, depicting the Buddhist stories, will lead you to learn about Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Your exploration of five caves here will be an unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, your guided tour will begin at Sigiriya the Ancient Rock Fortress, a definitely precious heritage with architectural wonders. Located high on a hilltop, the 1500-year-old rock fortress, which is 200 meters high, was once a royal palace comprising a moat, a large garden, and many halls. You will marvel at exquisite craftsmanship and enjoy a panoramic view of the boundless forest.

Stop At: Kandy, Kandy, Kandy District, Central Province
Seeing the ancient wonder, you will then proceed to Kandy, a holy pilgrimage city for Buddhists. During the drive, a stop at a local Spice Garden allows you to recognize the exotic spices in various colors. On arrival in Kandy, you will first be guided to visit four sites to familiarize yourself with the local lifestyle. The destinations cover a Kandy Bazaar; an Art & Craft Center, which sells local wooden carving art and other handicrafts; a Batik Factory showing the colorful wax art on clothes; and a Gem Museum & Lapidary, where you will glance at many beautiful rough gems. A Culture Dance Performance in the afternoon will take you closer to the rich culture of Sri Lanka.

After watching the show, you will head to the 15th-century Temple of Tooth Relics, a must-see in Kandy. Here the priceless tooth relic of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, has been enshrining for hundreds of years. You will visit the Sinhalese-style architectures, admire the full remains of the sacred elephant Rajah, and enjoy the murals depicting the history and story of the tooth relic.

Day 4: Drive to Colombo, Visit Geragama Tea Plantation & Enjoy High Tea Time

Enjoy a day full of the tea aroma! In the morning, a comfortable drive will bring you back to the capital Colombo. During the drive, you will stop at Geragama Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory to sample the authentic Ceylon Tea. Picking some tea leaves by yourself and enjoying the fragrance of fresh tea, you will get totally relaxed. In the evening in Colombo, a High Tea Time will round off your day of Ceylon Tea exploration.
