Itinerary

Day 1: Airport – Sigiriya

Stop At: Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
You will be welcomed by your personal tour coordinator at the airport or at your preferred pick-up location, and then head for a truly Sri Lankan breakfast. Later, you will be heading towards the Sigiriya and climb the Lion Rock; which is an ancient Rock Fortress built by a Sri Lankan King which accolades for historical and archaeological significance.

Stop At: Sigiriya Museum, Sigiriya Thalkotta Sigiriya Thalkotta, Sigiriya, Central Province, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
Your visit to the museum will be the first interaction with Sri Lanka’s culture. You will be provided with an excellent overview of Sigiriya’s cultural significance amidst the lush green setting.

Stop At: Dambulla Royal Cave Temple, Kandy – Jaffna Highway, Dambulla 21100 Sri Lanka
Later, you will be provided a tour around the Cave Temple and its link to the principal Pali Chronicle of Sri Lanka. The rock temple is the most extensive in the Island, and one of the most ancient, and in the highest state of preservation and order.

Day 2: Sigiriya

Stop At: Pidurangala Rock, Pidurangala,Sigiriya, Sigiriya 21120 Sri Lanka
Pidurangala is a massive rock formation located a few kilometers north of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka. It has an interesting history closely related to that of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Being less grand and far more difficult to climb it is often overlooked by tourists, but is a worth climb because the rocky outcrops that surround the central rock gives an indication of what the area around Sigiriya may have looked like prior to its clearing and preparation as a royal citadel.

Stop At: Minneriya National Park, Maradankadawala-Habarana-Thirukkondaiadimadu Highway, 50150 Sri Lanka
You will be taken on an adventurous ride into the Minneriya National Park where you could spot the Majestic Asian Elephants in its natural habitat and fortunately spot the endangered leopard roaming around the park. You will need to embark on the safari ride in the afternoon before sunset so that you don’t miss the elephants and the wildlife that’d visit the river banks for their last drink; the safari ride will be almost four hour long adventure.

Day 3: Sigiriya – Kandy

Stop At: Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Sri Dalada Veediya, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
On day 03, you will be proceeding towards Kandy after your breakfast at the hotel. The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Lord Buddha. During puja (offerings or prayers), the heavily guarded room housing the tooth is open to devotees and tourists. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is an important Buddhist site with huge history and prominence.

Stop At: Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya Road, Peradeniya 20400 Sri Lanka
Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the finest of its kind in Asia, the largest of the botanical gardens of Sri Lanka, couldn’t be better located. In the Mediterranean climate of Kandy, the gateway to the Central Highlands, the Gardens, at an elevation of 500 meters above sea-level, were tightly bounded on three sides by a loop of River Mahaweli (Great sandy river), the largest river of Sri Lanka.

Stop At: Kandy View Point, Rajapihilla Mawatha, Kandy 20000 Sri Lanka
Climb the hill by Kandy Lake to reach Kandy’s viewpoint and witness the view of the city amongst the hills that’s never to be missed. From the hill, you can enjoy great views over the lake and the city as a whole.

Day 4: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

Stop At: Ramboda Waterfall, Pussellawa Sri Lanka
On the third day, you will be heading towards Nuwara Eliya right after your breakfast in Kandy. En-route you will visit Ramboda Falls. Ramboda Falls is 109 m high and 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in Pussellawa area, on the A5 highway at Ramboda Pass. It formed by Panna Oya which is a tributary of Kothmale Oya. Altitude of the falls is 945 m above sea level.

Stop At: Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden, A5, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
Later, you will be taken on a tour around a tea plantation and factory and get to know the age-old preserved method of preparing splendid Sri Lanka tea with its flavours still intact.

Pass By: Gregory Lake, Nuwara Eliya Sri Lanka
Gregory Lake was created in 1873 by the British era Governor at the time, Sir William Gregory, supposedly for the purpose of providing electricity. However, the lake was mainly used for leisure and recreation after it was built. At its peak of fame, Gregory Lake was the most prominent attraction in the area and was used as a place to relax by the chilling atmosphere.

Stop At: Nanu Oya railway station, Avissawella – Hatton – Nuwara Eliya Hwy, Nuwara Eliya 22200 Sri Lanka
A train ride never to be missed as it beholds the best scenes of what a train ride has to offer as it runs through massive lush green plantations and around the misty hills of Sri Lanka. You will be travelling from Nanu Oya to Ella on this train ride.

Stop At: Ella, Ella, Uva Province
You will arrive at Ella Railway Station with your personal tour coordinator. You will be spending the rest of day at the hotel or will be visiting Ella town for a cup of coffee or a drink.

Day 5: Ella – Mirissa

Stop At: Nine Arches Bridge, Ella Sri Lanka
On day five right after having breakfast, you will proceed towards the Nine Arch Bridge. The Nine Arch is one of the best examples of colonial-era railway construction in the country. The surrounding area has seen a steady increase of tourism due to the bridge’s architectural ingenuity and the profuse greenery in the nearby hillsides.

Stop At: Coconut Tree Hill, Mirissa Sri Lanka
Later, you will proceed towards the coastal town of Mirissa from Ella for that perfect summer beach vacation away from the hustles, en route stop at a few of the most cherished waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Coconut Tree Hill is a beautiful hill perched into the Indian Ocean lined with sky high palm trees overlooking the Mirissa bay. Presumably one of the more well-known hotspots of Mirissa, locals and tourists alike flock to this gorgeous hill to catch a sunrise, or sunset, all while staring out into the vast ocean before it.

Day 6: Mirissa – Bentota

Stop At: Galle Fort, Church Street, Galle 80000 Sri Lanka
On day 06, you will be leaving to Bentota from Mirissa; another beach town but a bit more close to the towns and attractions. Galle Fort, in the Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, was built first by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch. It is a historical, archaeological and architectural heritage monument, which even after more than 432 years maintains a polished appearance, due to extensive reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. The Galle Fort houses extensive years of history dating back to the colonial era, further the walking street within the Fort provides an interesting collections of shops and businesses for you to explore.

Take a magical speed-boat ride down the beautiful Madu River, a wetland estuary spreading over 900 hectares of which 770 hectares is covered with water and inhabited with 64 islands. The boat ride is a wonderful way to take a closer look at this complex wetland ecosystem; a world heritage site protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands being one of the last wetlands in Sri Lanka to contain a pristine mangrove forest. The boat ride through the mangroves provides an amazon-like voyage; further you could get a soothing and hygienic fish massage along the ride.

If you are looking to spend your holidays and give yourself a calm and natural treat, with less bars and restaurants, this is the most refreshing and relaxing site. The Bentota Beach which extends across 7-8 kilometers is truly a symbol of peace, calmness and cleanness. One of its strongest points is its quiet surroundings which, according to many people, run the natural and relaxing environment of the beach. Day 7: Bentota – Airport

On the final day of your tour, you will be leaving to the Airport from Bentota. En-route you will be visiting Colombo, because no tour is complete without exploring the capital of Sri Lanka. Gangaramaya Temple is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Located on the Beira Lake.

The Arcade is a shopping complex in Colombo, housed in a group of renovated colonial buildings. It was built as a part of the Independence Square Redevelopment programme initiated by the national government.
