Stop At: Mulgirigala Raja Maha Vihara, 450 B North of Tangalle, Tangalle 82200 Sri Lanka
Mulkirigala Raja Maha Vihara is an ancient Buddhist temple in Mulkirigala, Sri Lanka. It has been built on a 205 m high natural rock, surrounded with another four rocks known as Benagala, Kondagala, Bisogala and Seelawathiegala. As mentioned in the Bodhi Vamsa chronicle, one of the temples known as Giriba Viharaya is where one of the Bo saplings out of 32 saplings germinated from Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is planted, which was currently identified as Mulkirigala temple. During the Polonnaruwa period this temple was known as Samuddagiri Viharaya, according to the Kamburupitiya Wanaratna Thero, who had read the stone inscription of the pond.

Stop At: Wewurukannala Vihara, Dikwella Sri Lanka
23 Kilometers east of Matara is the town of Dikwella, where there is one of the most amazing Buddhist temples in Sri Lanka. The Wewurukannala Buduraja Maha Viharaya temple is dominated by an image of a seated Buddha. It is 160ft high and dates back to the time of King Rajadhi (1782 – 1798). The temple museum is another must see. The most impressive is the large clock which can be seen from the front of the building. Inside, the mechanism of the clock is protected inside a glass cubicle. The temple walls depict the path towards enlightenment by showing depictions of events in Buddha’s life.

Stop At: Hummanaya Blow Hole, Kudawella, Tangalle Sri Lanka
Hummanaya Blow Hole is the only blowhole in Sri Lanka and the second-largest one of its kind in the world. It is an incredible natural landmark that attracts hundreds of tourists every season. Situated in the little village by the sea named Kudawella in the Southern Province after Matara and Dikwella, it is a great natural fountain that sprays up into the air from in between two large rocks. The spray is often between eighty and a hundred feet tall during the high tide or a storm.

Stop At: Goyambokka Beach, Tangalle, Sri Lanka
Located a 10 minute drive away towards the west of Tangalle, the Goyambokka beach is a secluded area with palm trees lined along the shores and with turquoise blue waters. This blissful beach spot is uncluttered and peaceful, thus it offers you the possibility of spending some quality time at this beach. The sand there is very soft and powdery without pebbles. The shoreline has dense cocoa and palm trees with sunbeds, lounge chairs and hammocks along the shore. With the perfect blend of nature and human-made rejuvenation options, Goyambokka is a treasure of the country.
